After sponsoring other horror writing grants in years past, we’ve decided to branch out and run a grant scheme of our own to help out queer writers of horror.
There are no set requirements for what you can & can’t use the grant for, it’s a one-off payment of $100 (or local equivalent, the grant is offered internationally) to help you grow your writing career, whether that means putting it towards a professional membership, taking a course, buying books, writing software or whatever else you might need to develop your writing journey.
Applications are welcome from all members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community aged 16+, as long as they can demonstrate a reasonable commitment to writing horror in any form, whether that’s fiction, non-fiction, poetry, screenplays, videogame scripts or anything similar.
Applications are now CLOSED for 2023.
This being our first grant, we will only be able to select one recipient from all entrants, though we hope to expand the grant scheme to include more recipients in future.
After the application period ends, one grant recipient will be selected by Sliced Up Press’ grant committee and notified no later than 28th Febraury 2023. You will only be contacted if your application is successful.
FAQs
Can I apply again if I’m unsuccessful?
We ask that individuals apply only once for the grant. At the time of writing (Jan 2023), we plan on opening for applications once a year. Should the grant be offered again in the future, unsuccessful applicants for the 2023 grant are welcome to reapply.
