We are currently OPEN for editing requests, please see guidelines below.
As a queer-run press, we understand how hard it can be to get support, which is why we offer free copy / developmental edits for LGBTQIA2S+ writers.
This page will be updated regularly to show whether we have editing slots OPEN or CLOSED – please do not contact us if slots are closed!
As we’re a very small operation, we have a few other guidelines in place to stop us getting swamped by more requests than we can handle:
- Each month we’ll have a maximum of four (4) open slots for edits; if slots have filled up by the time you contact us, we’ll let you know and offer to bump you to the following month
- Stories should be in the horror genre and run to no more than 4k words
- Edits will generally take a couple of weeks, possibly longer depending on our other commitments, so if you’re on a tight deadline we can’t guarantee to get back to you by a specific date – sorry!
- Please don’t send anything that’s under consideration for an open submission call to one of our anthologies. Guidelines about anthology submission feedback will be found on the Submissions page when a call is open.
And that’s it! If you’ve got a short story you’d like us to check over, please message us via the form on our Contact page and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Let us know in your message whether you want copy edits, developmental edits, or both, and we’d be happy to help!
